My system seems sluggish. What can I do to speed it up?

There are many reasons a computer system can be slow. The most common we have found is a lack of Ram. It's easy to see how much Ram your system is using and whether adding more Ram would help your system.

This assumes you are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Start by closing out all programs. Then right click on the task bar (The bar going across the bottom of your screen). Then left click on Task Manager. After that, click on the performance tab. You should see the following window.

Task Manager

There are 2 numbers to look at here. If your Peak numbers is larger than your total, then adding more Ram will help. Otherwise, you need to look elsewhere to speed up your system.
